Lars' Party
Last week, Lars and his wife had their Antrittsvorlesungen and after that they invited relatives and close friends to their new home. C+L and I of course joined the party. His place is like a big mansion with a super super big garden. It was quite a nice party, we had grill and there was also live music- a band from Uni Hildesheim. L said it was playing some kinda progressive/jazz music. Anyway, L was then suggesting that when it gets dark, we should play some songs! I didn't take it really seriously though but when the live band made the 2nd break, we asked one of ppl from the band and see if we can play a few songs. They said ya so we started to play with them! And I think C called Lars up , where the music was and I guess he was kinda surprised that we were playing music at his party! It seems like the ppl liked the music. After that, we told Lars that we are doing it for hobby and he said "I hope you are only doing this for hobby" and then comes Lars' typical laugh "ha ha ha". Anyway, that was definitely a good rehearsal for the Arlinger Fest performance and we had real FUN and that was my first performance with a LIVE band!!! COOL!

We won 2nd place

Yo! A and I joined the Oldtimer Rally this weekend with his Silver Audi 80 GTE (Youngtimer)! And we won 2nd place!! Schade, only 3 points differences from the 1st place! Anyway, it was fun and the weather was much better than expected cos we were expecting rain and storm this weekend!
When the result sheets are posted, I was one of the first ones to check our position. When I bought the good news to Alex he does not believe it!! Cos on the initial result sheets we did very bad and got 50 minus points. And at the final result, we got only 24 minus points because they realized that there is something wrong with the timer, so everybody scores got boosted. We are especially happy about it cos we didn't win anything in the last two years and so we were thinking that probably we will not get anything this time! We are planning to join the next one in July... probably 1 or 2 weeks right before our wedding! ;-)

I am Brazilian?
It has been quite a busy week, working on the wedding preparation and performance for Arlinger Fest. Actually, I never thought that there would be so much to do for the wedding... I guess, it's the details that took most of the time. Cos everything has to be perfect as I want, all the little things. Now I see why there is a need to hire a wedding planner.
O and surprise, surprise, two of my friends from Canada are planning to come to my wedding! I never thought that they would really come all the way from Canada!
Anyway last week, I was helping L for his Brazilian party for the UNI and guess what? someone told L that she thought I am from Brazil?! Uh?
O yo, it's such a hot day today, gotta to enjoy my Radler now!

Parking Lot
Yesterday, Alex and I went to the Rathaus in PF early in the morning to get some paper work done and so usual, we park the car at the Rathaus parking lot. And guess what? We entered the parking lot and there is a car stopped right in front of the barrier and then an old man step out from the car and tell us that the ticket machine is not working and we should help. And guess what's wrong with the ticket machine?! It can't stop giving tickets! I have never seen this before. =-)

Trip in Athens
I was Athens for a week for the X-File review meeting. Weather was not that bad, although was colder than expected but the good thing is that is not too hot! I came together with C and ST but ST had to leave earlier due to unexpected private reason. We basically more of the time at the meeting but we do find time to hang around downtown Athens near the Monastiraki station. We also took a walk up the Acropolis in the evening and hang around ...Friday, C and I went shopping, bought a new dress.. with black and yellow dots.. it's quite cool... Saturday.. we just hang around Acropolis, and walk around downtown cos we don't want to have a really stressful sight-seeing tour... so basically just hang around and in the evening we had a Cuba chocolate drink at a cafe!

Trip in Rome
It has been quite some time that I haven't updated my blog! Well, I have been quite busy this month. If you have followed up my blog you would know that I was in FR for a week for the GFKL conference. And right after that i went for our Valentine's trip to Rome and after then a project meeting for the "maybe" TV-project!
Let's just talk about our trip in Rome this time... We have spent 2 nights, 3 days in Rome. Of course we were at the Colosseum, Vatican, Monument of Vittorio Emanuele II, Spanish Steps... We have spent also a lot of time just walking around in downtown and discovering the small streets in Rome. More importantly is to discover good restaurants. First dinner in Rome was terrible. We took the suggestion of the guy at the lobby and went to a nearby restaurant. It is very crowd, claimed to won many awards, full of English people. We even have to wait for like 30 mins before we got sitted. We ordered Pizza and Spaghetti but they tasted so bad that we couldn't even finish our food even though we are so hungry!! Anyway, the next day we were very careful in selecting the restaurant and make sure that we go to places where there is almost no tourist at all, especially Englander(hee hee)... Food is also quite expensive there in Rome. As most Italians eat 3-5 courses a meal (pasta usually comes before the main course) that meas a plate of spaghetti is only 1/2 a portion of what we usually eat but of course the cost of a full price. So in order to get full, you will have to take several courses until dessert to finally feel full. Beside the simply spaghetti and pizza dishes, we have of course tried some less "popular/international Italian food". We have tried marinated grilled vegetables, grilled steak, beef with ricola with baked potatoes...etc! YUMMY!! So that was where most of our money goes, to the stomach.
In general, I find Rome quite nice but we both think Barcelona is nicer and the atmosphere is also better... one thing that we didn't like was that the U-Bahn closes at 21:00!! On the second night, we finished our dinner at 22:00 and of course we have to walk back to our hotel. Rome is not as dangerous as I thought though... we didn't really worried about walking alone at night... we bumped into several drunken english people though! sigh...
O... and not to forget the hotel.. it is fine... just as expected (because we didn't have much expectations... HEE HEE)... It is not very luxury but just clean and good enough.
Alright.. i guess i better stop writing and show some nice pics from my mobile.

Rathaus
Today I had an appointment at the Rathaus ... usually I only need 15 from the uni to the Rathaus.. and it took me almost an hour today... why? I was looking for a parking space and got lost and couldn't find the rathhaus anymore!! ........
I end up being late for the appointment but I phoned them about my delay and the people were quite nice...
I view it as the joke of the day... maybe i am getting old.. sign....
BTW, starting from today I am not gonna eat at the mensa for a while 1) i am sick of the taste of the mena food, 2) i think i have skin allergy from their food ... cos back in FR I usually bring my own home-made food and I don't have skin problem... well.. we will see...
